It’s time of the year again, we are getting busy preparing Christmas cards for all the upcoming Christmas markets. This year, we are accepting pre-orders for our 2016 Papercut Christmas Cards Bundles, so that we can be well-prepared for all the upcoming Christmas Shows this year. Each bundle includes 5 Christmas cards of your choice – you can mix & match from our 15 different designs. With the purchase, you can also enjoy a 10% off your next custom 3D picture order!

Each bundle is CAD$20. The pre-order deadline is November 15th and we will mail out all orders before November 21st. Discounted flat rate shipping option is available to anywhere in Canada. Thank you 2015 & Hello 2016! – Our Year Review

HAPPY 2016!!! Thank you for all your LOVE & SUPPORT in 2015! We had an awesome year and had achieved lots of milestones! We will continue to grow and spread the love in 2016!

Here’s a review of 2015 –

West Elm Collaboration – I had the honor to design a tote bag for West Elm Calgary store grand opening. It turned out super awesome and since they only printed a limited number of totes, it was a great hit and I was glad that I could keep a couple!

I was also invited to display some of my stationery products at the West Elm store as part of their awesome program called West Elm Local; which also made our first available retail location in Calgary! I couldn’t even describe how happy I was! Thank you West Elm!

Getting back to local craft show – – I took a two-year break from participating any art & craft shows, and I finally decided I should get back to one for better brand exposure, so I partnered with one of the local designers I met at West Elm Local, Tiffany who founded Rural Creative, and we applied for Market Collective Christmas Market together. Lots of sleepless nights making papercut Christmas cards, preparing the show and packaging products, but With my fiancé’s help and Tiffany’s awesome wall decos and signs, our table drew lots of attentions and it was a great success! Thank you YYC!

These are the great highlights of our 2015, we can’t wait for 2016 and there will be more products releasing; more local shows we will be joining; and for sure more love spreading! Thank you so much again every one of you and HAVE A GREAT, SUPER AWESOME 2016!!

Market Collective Christmas Show 2015

Christmas is just around the corner, it’s time to stock up some Christmas cards and gifts! We are so excited to be part of Market Collective Christmas Show in Calgary this year, and it will also be our first YYC craft show! Come join us from 18th to 20th December at Chinese Cultural Centre for our new exciting 2015 Christmas cards selection. Our favourite cards and prints will be available at the booth as well. Mark the dates on your calendar and we hope to see you soon!

West Elm Calgary Collaboration

Hello, my name is Alison Hui, the ‘behind the scene’ person of The Paper Lover Co. I finally got some time to update this blog after so long, I promise I will post more often about what I’ve been up to with The Paper Lover Co. 😉

I had been spending time in rethinking about the vision I wanted to put in the company and how I wanted to create more cool yet relevant products. Time flies like the wind, without putting words in actions, my dream would never come true. While preparing my new custom product line -3D papercut pictures, and I fell in love with drawing city skylines. I started creating pictures of Calgary skyline and turned them into a 3D picture. Telling myself that I should focus more in local market, like joining some craft shows again, then out of the blue, a phone call left me with an amazing opportunity! West Elm, a Brooklyn based furniture store is opening a store in Calgary, and would like to invite me for collaboration! I got to create an illustration for an exclusive tote bag to be given out at the store opening, as well as a the opportunity to join West Elm Local program and showcase my products!

I will be luanching a new collection called City Love, kicking off with the Calgary series. They will be available at West Elm Calgary on 19th August, and they are also aailable at our online store.

Happy Christmas & Byebye 2014!

Can’t believe it’s close to the end of 2014! It has been one of the most stressful year to me – moving to another city, starting another job, and finding a perfect home, etc. Now, I believe it’s finally the time for me to get back to The Paper Lover Co. With more collaborations and opportunities coming in, 2015 is going to be a turning point for me to re-focus on my business and create more inspirational pieces. With all the new ideas in mind, I am ready to face the new upcoming challenges!

I am going to continuously update the site and create more samples in the next couple weeks. I also got an invitation to collaborate with West Elm and a wedding photographer friend of mine next year. 2015 is going to be GREAT and I am sure yours will be too!

Style Me Pretty Feature!

We would like to announce our first wedding stationery collection featured on Style Me Pretty’s blog!!

It was quite a rush when Justine from Milton Photography called us and said she would like a collaboration for a wedding shoot. We were so glad that we made it on time and submitted to Stle Me Pretty.

The main theme is chevron pattern and the theme colors for the wedding are pink and gold with a hint of raspberry. We added some fun and cute elegant deatils by using the custom shape and the flower patterns for the wedding invitations.

Although we only had a little time to prepare for this project, it was such an AWESOME collaboration with Milton Photography!!
